Stijn Van Schel

Counsel

Stijn is an experienced litigator who specializes in sports law, private international law, procedural law, contract law and seizure (attachment) law. He is a counsel at ALTIUS and has published various contributions in books and legal journals covering these areas of practice.

Stijn represents both sports clubs and individual athletes in litigation before general and arbitration courts. He also assists clients with the recovery of (cross-border) debts.

Furthermore, Stijn has experience with (civil and commercial) procedures before the Belgian Supreme Court (Hof van Cassatie/Cour de Cassation).

Stijn has a Lic. Juris from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He is employed part-time as an academic assistant (procedural law) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Previously, Stijn was also a part-time academic assistant at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
